Despite the existence of various funding mechanisms, developing countries benefit little due to several constraints including lack of awareness of the existence or functioning of funding mechanisms and inadequate capacity to write targeted project proposals that meet their specific requirements.

Increasing knowledge and sharing of experiences on different aspects of Climate Change financing, such as institutional arrangements, organizational structures; determination of financial, technological and capacity building support is needed.
