Israel video and drone tour with Tomer Hyman and David Hyman. Mount Meron is the tallest mountain in Galilee at 1280 meters above Sea level and is best known as a Jewish Pilgrimage site to the final resting place of Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai, called by everyone - Rashbi. Rashbi was one of the spiritual leaders of the Judean community of Galilee during the second century under Roman occupation. He was persecuted by the Roman and chose to go into hiding. He hid in a cave in Pequiin for 13 years, with his son Elazar. They eat fruit from the Charob tree and drank the water of the spring. During the many years of Hiding, Rashbi and his son managed to reach the highest levels of spirituality and comprehension of the secrets of the Torah and they created the foundation book of the Kaballa, called the Zohar.
Since then Rashbi is revered by millions of Jews as the founder of Spiritual Judaism, his merits are extremely powerful and spiritual.
Our tour will take us above the tomb site, and then inside to the resting place, we also visited and filmed the adjacent ancient 2nd century Meron Synagogue that has not yet been excavated.
A terrible tragedy occurred during the celebrations of Lag BaOmer of 2021, when tens of thousands of celebrants were allowed into the small compound, creating a deadly stampede, that took the lives of 45 men and boys. May HaShem cherish their memory forever - Amen.
