Purushottam Agarwal (Kader Khan), a conservative Indian man residing in London, dreams of his granddaughter Nikki (Namrata Shirodkar) embracing her Indian roots. When Nikki, raised in a modern Western environment, announces her desire to marry a British man named Rohit, a hilarious culture clash ensues. Disapproving of Rohit, Purushottam insists Nikki marry someone from their Indian heritage. Feeling pressured, Nikki devises a plan.

Upon arriving in India, Nikki encounters Rommie (Arshad Warsi), a charming but mischievous tourist guide. In a desperate attempt to appease her grandfather, Nikki convinces Rommie to pose as her wealthy fiancé. Rommie, initially reluctant, agrees to this temporary charade. However, their scheme takes an unforeseen turn. As Rommie attempts to portray himself as a brash and uncultured persona to deter Purushottam, fate has other plans in store. His genuine personality and thoughtful gestures unexpectedly win over Nikki's grandfather, much to her initial dismay.

Through a series of comical situations and heartwarming moments, Nikki starts to question her feelings for Rohit. Will her fabricated romance with Rommie blossom into genuine love?
