One of the pearls of Calabria is Scilla, located directly on the Strait of Messina. The beach is dominated by a castle built by the Ruffo family, who ruled the town from the 16th to the 19th century. Scilla is one of the most photogenic places in the region. Its inhabitants live mainly from fishing and tourism.

The town is divided into 3 parts: the seaside town of Marina Grande, San Giorgio - Ruffo Castle and the administrative centre of the town located on the mountain and the fishing district - Chianalea, located at the bottom of the port. Jedną z perełek Kalabrii jest Scilla, leżąca bezpośrednio nad Cieśniną Mesyńską. Nad tutejszą plażą góruje zamek zbudowany przez ród Ruffo, który rządził miasteczkiem od XVI do XIX wieku. Scilla to jedna z najbardziej fotogenicznych miejscowości w regionie. Jej mieszkańcy żyją przede wszystkim z rybołówstwa i turystyki.

Miasteczko podzielone jest na 3 części: nadmorska miejscowość Marina Grande, San Giorgio czyli zamek Ruffo i centrum administracyjne miasta znajdujące się na górze oraz dzielnica rybacka - Chianalea, znajdująca się na dole przy porcie. Wszystkie dzielnice zgromadzone są wokół zamku stojącego dumnie na skale.
