Over 77 Million Americans Vote Early, More Republicans Help Break Records | Firstpost America
More than 77 million people have already cast their ballots before Election Day in the United States. The early voter turnout is lower than the last election in 2020, where more than 100 million people voted to elect their president. However, it is still significantly more than in 2016 and other previous elections. According to The Associated Press, each of the seven battleground states has received more than one million votes. Meanwhile, the states of Georgia and North Carolina saw record-breaking voting on the first day of early voting. Georgia has also shattered the record of total early voting turnout with more than four million votes. This time, out of the 77 million votes, 41% were cast by registered Democrats and 39% were cast by registered Republicans.
