The most high profile execution saw the Tsar Nicholas II, Tsarina Alexandra and the Russian royal family being slaughtered in Yekaterinburg. But Elisabeth was executed in brutal fashion, as she was taken to a mine shaft and was thrown down along with a number of former princes and other members of the royal family. Her execution was one which was needless and un-necessary, and one which was incredibly shocking.
