Parkinson's disease is a chronic progressive disease that develops secondary to reduction of Dopamine in the brain and is generally seen in advanced ages. The disease almost always begins with the symptoms observed in one half of the body and it progresses slowly. The cardinal symptoms of the disease that disrupt the quality of life of patients are slowing of movements (bradykinesia), resting tremor, stiffness and hardness in joints (rigidity), gait disorders and postural instability. In addition to these complaints and symptoms, speech disorder, loss of facial expressions(hypomimia) , constipation due to decreased bowel movements, decrease in sense of smell, tension and pain in joints and muscles, sleep problems, depression and certain psychological problems can also be listed among the symptoms of the disease that cause complaints.
