TITLE: SUAM NA MAIS (CORN SOUP)
Filipino Corn Soup or Suam na Mais is cooked with shrimp or chicken. It can be serve as an appetizer or as a viand together with steamed rice.
INGREDIENTS:
2- 3 cobs fresh corn kernel – (hulled)
2 cups Moringa leaves (malunggay)
300 grams Shrimp (shelled and deveined)
2 Chicken thigh fillet, sliced
5 cloves Garlic, minced
1 medium Onion, chopped
1 small Ginger, sliced
2 tbsp cooking oil
3 tbsp fish sauce
½ tsp Salt
½ tsp ground black pepper
4 cups water or chicken stock
COOKING INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Saute shrimp for 2 minutes
2. Saute onion, ginger, and garlic.
3. Add chicken slices then put fish sauce.
4. After 2 minutes add corn and water
5. Bring to a boil and add the grated corn. Add salt and peper to taste
6. Serve hot and enjoy!
