This session takes a look at the access courses available at the OU and attempts to answer the question: Why do students who begin with access tend to do better in their studies?
David Heley has been an Arts tutor for 20 years, teaching at all levels of the OU, and is also director of the Day for Night Theatre Company. He graduated from the OU in the 1970s and then studied film, drama and performance at post-graduate level at Oxford and then New York University.
Helen Cooke joined The Open University in 2007 as a management trainee and is now a senior manager in curriculum innovation, where she leads on all development, management and governance duties relating to the Open Programme
