The bimetal thermometer is a hot bimetal wound into a threaded spinning shape as a temperature sensing device, and it is mounted in a protective casing, one end of which is fixed and is called the fixed end, and the other end is attached to a thin spool and is called the free end. In the free end of the spool is equipped with a pointer. When the temperature changes, the free end of the temperature sensing device rotates, driving the pointer on the thin shaft to produce angular changes, indicating the corresponding temperature on the dial.
The installation of bimetallic thermometer, attention should be paid to facilitate accurate temperature measurement, safety, reliability and easy maintenance, and does not affect the operation of equipment and production operations, to meet the above requirements, in the selection of the installation of RTD parts and insertion depth should pay attention to the following points:
(1) In order to make the measuring end of the RTD and the measured medium have sufficient heat exchange, should reasonably choose the location of the measurement point, try to avoid the valves, elbows and pipelines and equipment near the dead end of the installation of RTD. (2) With a protective casing of the RTD has heat transfer and heat loss, in order to reduce the measurement error, thermocouples and RTDs should have sufficient insertion depth:
a. For measuring the temperature of the fluid in the center of the pipe, the RTD should generally be inserted with its measuring end at the center of the pipe (vertical installation or inclined installation). If the diameter of the pipe of the measured fluid is 200mm, then the insertion depth of the RTD should be selected as 100mm;
b. For temperature measurement of high temperature, high pressure and high speed fluid (e.g. main steam temperature), in order to reduce the resistance of the protective sleeve to the fluid and to prevent the protective sleeve from fracturing under the action of the fluid, the protective tube can be shallowly inserted or the use of heat-sleeve type RTD. Shallow insertion type RTD protection sleeve, the depth of its insertion into the main steam pipe should not be less than 75mm; heat sleeve type RTD standard insertion depth of 100mm;
c, if you need to measure the temperature of the flue gas in the flue, although the diameter of the flue for 4 m, RTD insertion depth of 1 m can be;
d, when the measurement of the original insertion depth of more than 1 m, it should be installed vertically as far as possible, or add support bracket and protective sleeve.
