Joel Sartore graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Journalism and Mass Communications. He helped to create a photojournalism fund with Howard Buffett and Thomas Mangelsen. The endowment provides for international study abroad. He schedules regular mentoring sessions with photojournalism students.
