ASP PRESENTS:
The M1942 Camouflage Coveralls. At the direct request of General MacArthur, camouflage uniforms and gear were being developed for jungle fighting in the Pacific. The reversible camouflage coveralls was the first attempt to better conceal troops for jungle fighting. The use of the camouflage coveralls in the Army and Marines were short lived. It was too difficult to relieve once self while wearing them and they were too hot, but they were still issued to some rear echelon troops.
