When do the periods resume after a delivery?
Whether you had a normal delivery or a caesarean section, you could continue to have a little bleeding for up to two months.
If you are not breastfeeding, your periods resume within those two months, and you could have a heavier flow at the end of 6 to 8 weeks.
If you continue to breastfeed, you may not get your period for about 6 months of breastfeeding, or even up to 12 months if you are also breastfeeding during the day and night.
But what do you have to be careful about?
Your egg formation or ovulation could still happen, so you could still get pregnant even if you've not had your first period yet.
So, be very careful about contraception so that you don't end up with an unplanned pregnancy.
