Dog Boo Bandana

This is similar to my Reversible Layered Dog Bandana tutorial, except it’s just going to be one layer.

I measured my dog’s collar (about 11 1/2”) to figure out the length of the bandana.
For my template, I drew an 11 1/2” x 5” rectangle. I marked the sides 1” from the top, measured 5” on the bottom (center), & formed a triangle.
I cut two 6” x 1” strips, measured 1” (from the corner), & cut 45 degree angles at the ends.
I taped them on opposite sides of the triangle.
Trace it onto fabric & cut 2 layers (opposite sides).
Pin one of the pieces (to act as a guide when painting).
Place it on a board & write “BOO!”
After it dries, pin the 2 pieces together, backs facing out.
Sew it & leave an opening (in the triangular area).
Cut around the corners & turn it inside-out.
Close it with a ladder stitch. (To do this, starting from under the fabric seam, bring the needle up. Make a stitch on one side, crossover to the other side, make a stitch, & crossover again.)
Iron it, Knot it, & you’re done.
Mini Felt Pumpkin
Supplies:
Tan/Green Felt
Orange Felt
Paper
Tailor Chalk
Thread (I used upholstery thread)
Needle
Polyester Fiberfill
Glue Gun
Scissors
Compass
Create a 9” circle template (Set the radius of your compass to 4 1/2”). I just made half a circle.
Trace it onto orange felt & cut it out.
Knot the end of your thread & stitch along the edge of the circle.
Pull the thread so that the felt scrunches together.
Fill it with polyester fiberfill before closing it.
I knotted the end & brought the thread up through the center of the pumpkin.
I brought it to the top center & back to the bottom a few times (wrapping around the pumpkin).
Knot it & cut the thread.
Cut an orange circle big enough to cover the hole on the bottom.
Cut a 1” x 2” tan strip. Add glue & roll it up. Then, cut the end at an angle.
(Optional) Cut a small circle with spikes around it. Make a hole in the center (with slits), to fit the stem.
Glue the orange circle to the bottom the pumpkin.
Glue the stem to the top center, along with the spiked circle, & you’re done.
