In multilevel exercise, Indian Coast Guard on November 29 carried out a sea exercise, SAREX -2024. The ICG conducted 11th edition of the National Maritime Search and Rescue Exercise off the Kochi coast. During sea exercise, a coordinated mass rescue operation was swiftly demonstrated with deployment of several resources. The exercise witnessed a scenario portraying a passenger aircraft that was stranded in the waters and passengers were rescued from it. Ships and aircraft from Indian Coast Guard, Indian Air Forces, tugs from Cochin port, Kochi water metro and water ambulances took part in the event. SAREX-2024 was held on the theme ‘Enhancing Search and Rescue Capabilities Through Regional Collaboration’. Through SAREX-2024 Indian Coast Guard aim at strengthening maritime safety, rescue operation capabilities.
