I tested out this cheap 4TB SSD NVME drive from AliExpress called 990 PRO SSD Solid State Drive 4TB 2TB 1TB M.2 2280 SSD PCIe4.0 NVMe Gaming Internal Hard Drive 7450MB/S for PS5 Laptop Desktop. They also sell them on other Chinese platforms like TEMU. Price range around 30 Euro / dollar.

I use Apple MacOS and unfortunately there are not many tools available to run tests on a drive and spot a 'fake' or 'scam' drive.

In this video I will use two software tools to test out the drive:

1. BlackMagicDesign Disk Speed Test (this software can be found in Mac App store)
2. f3write, which is a tool from f3 - Fight Flash Fraud. This software can be installed on Mac OSX using Macports or Homebrew. This tool is also available for Linux and Windows.
