It was such an honor and a pleasure for me to interview James "Jim" Brown when he visited Fantasy of Flight back in 2003. Jim was the original "Candy Clipper" mechanic, who helped in its recovery and restoration back on Bataan in the Philippines during WW2. Jim shares the story about the Clipper as well as his time in Bataan, including the Japanese attack, the American surrender, the Death March, and his imprisonment in several POW camps. The stories are history, and so fascinating, including one that might have been an inspiration for a "Pulp Fiction" scene. After our chat I was able to take Jim up for a flight in my Duck, named after the original "Candy Clipper". Check it out.
