Today on our trailer, we're going to be showing you how to install the Deka red epoxy-coated battery terminal. This offers a brass-plated wing nut and a 3/8" stud. The part number is DW05310. Now we're here in our battery box, and the problem we're running into is that our terminal just keeps loosening up and it's not holding a good connection. What we're going to do, go ahead and take that off. Let's remove our wire. This one we could also loosen both of our bolts up here, put a wire in there and clamp down on it.
If you do have those clamp style wires or if you've got one or two in there that are clamped on there, what we're going to do is just add a ring terminal here to the end. There we're just going to bring our terminal down, get it placed on there where we want it, and then we'll start to tighten down the nut. As you can see we've got a nice, solid connection there, and that ring terminal is going to go right down over and be underneath our wing nut there. Then we can, as you can see, there's plenty of room to get several connections made in there if you're operating more than one style of equipment. Let's get our wires back in place and all we'll have to do is pop our cover on and that's really all there is to it. That's going to complete today's look at the Deka red epoxy-coated battery terminal, part number DW05310. .
