This was my Advanced Animation final for college. I've always loved this song. I interpret it as someone who is extremely codependent, getting way too attached to their friends to the point it's toxic and eventually driving them away. They wall themselves off from everyone and sell their soul to the devil to force the devil to be their friend, but the devil isn't at all interested in that, choosing instead to teach the mortal to "let go" and find hope and comfort in themselves.

Note: The painting used in the second half is an oil painting by Deb Anderson called Seven Sisters. I found it on google using the Creative Commons filter and didn't realize it may actually not be Creative Commons until I was halfway through the project. Sorry Deb, I hope you don't mind me using your painting. It's really nice.
