In this video, I reflect on my experience of taking part in Mandarin Retreat 2024 (the world's most hardcore mandarin summer camp) an annual summer camp in which all the participants only talk in Mandarin for the duration of the camp. It gives learners the opportunity to experience total immersion of the language whilst not having to leave the UK. This is a great opportunity for immersion learning, a language learning method where the learner is surrounded by the language all day everyday, helping them learn to think in the language.
