After checking the weather forcast we decided to stay a few days in Karitane, a day's ride north of Dunedin because a storm was coming. On the way, we visited the famous Moeraki Boulders. While in Karitane we caught a bus in and out of Dunedin we saw the city and visit edthe Albatross colony at Taiaroa Head. Sadly our forecast was wrong and the rain hit us just as we finally left Karitane for Dunedin! We arrived at a friend's parents house in Dunedin, soaked to the skin. They gave us a warm welcome and we soon dried out. The next day we cycled south, passed Brighton NZ (we live near Brighton UK!) and camped in Balclutha.
