The US-based Southwest Airlines had an unmitigated disaster during the 2022 holiday season. Over 13,000 flights were cancelled, which will reduce the company's fourth quarter earnings by anywhere from 3% to 5%.
Some of the biggest problems were not weather-related - they were IT related. This video outlines my assessment of the four lessons we can takeaway from this mess and apply to our digital transformation and IT initiatives.
