A brilliant morning at Northwood Halt for the Severn Valley Railway's Autumn Steam Gala 2024, featuring an all-star cast of steam locomotives. Some great locos here, I'd have to say the most impressive was certainly GWR Saint Class Number 2999 "Lady of Legend", who made a hell of a noise leaving towards Kidderminster, for my money the loudest steam loco performance of the year, even above the double-headed Black 5s up Sugar Loaf bank in April. LMS Mogul 13268 also had a surprisingly good showing for herself during a heavy downpour, some good noise and a little bit of wheelslip. Black 5 44932 making an incredibly rare gala appearance was great to see, as was seeing familiar face L&Y Tank 11456 visiting from the ELR. A good day all round.
