Fanny Hensel née Mendelssohn (1805-1847) was a pianist and composer like her younger brother, Felix. Although she was not encouraged to pursue her musical passion, she composed more than 400 pieces. Today, her music is known and appreciated. Curiously, she died the same year Felix did.
