Noida will become IT hub, 30 big companies investing 20 thousand crores | The Dawn
Uttar Pradesh Noida (Gautam Budh Nagar) district will be counted as the hub of large Information Technology (IT) sector of the country. This is indicating buying of land by well-known companies like multinational company Microsoft, Adani Group and MAQ to set up data centers in Noida. Apart from these three companies, HCL, Google and TCS have already spread their feet in Noida. While Hiranandani Group, Netmagic Services, STT Pvt Ltd and Agarwal Associate Ltd are also in touch with the government to set up data centres.
These companies, which are investing in the field of data center and software technology in the state, are setting up their enterprises in the state only with the efforts of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Due to the concessions given under the UP Electronics Manufacturing Policy-2017, 30 big investors showed interest in investing Rs 20,000 crore in the IT sector. This was possible only because of the IT policy brought by the Chief Minister to promote investment in the IT sector.
Considering the increasing interest of investors in the IT sector, the Chief Minister decided to declare Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna Express areas located in the National Capital Region as ‘Electronics Manufacturing Ring Zone’ to promote electronics investment in the state. With this decision of the government, many reputed companies from China, Taiwan and Korea came forward to set up their units in UP. Last year Microsoft, Adani Group, MAQ, Hiranandani Group, Netmagic Services, STT Pvt Ltd and Agarwal Associate Ltd also took the initiative to invest in UP.
Acting on the investment proposals of these companies, the New Okhla Industrial Development Authority allotted 60 thousand square meters to Microsoft in Sector 145. Microsoft’s software park and data center will soon be set up on this land by investing Rs 1800 crore. More than 3500 people will get employment in this project.
With the arrival of Microsoft, the entire NCR, including Noida, will develop into a software hub. Similarly, Noida Authority has allotted a plot of 34,275 square meters to Adani Group at prime location in Sector-62 of the city and 39,146 square meters to Adani Enterprises in Sector-80 of Noida itself. The company will set up a world class data center on this plot. Adani Group will invest Rs 2,500 crore on this project. The project will provide employment to 2,350 persons. Apart from this, the Noida Authority has allotted a large plot of 16,350 square meters to MAQ India Pvt Ltd.
MACQ is one of the leading IT and ITeS companies in the world. The company will set up an IT project on this plot. The company will invest Rs 250 crore on this. MAQ has been allotted plot in Sector-145.
UP Govt Set to Develop Industrial Parks On PPP Model In Several Districts, Thousands Of Acres Of Land Identified Near Expressways To Build Industrial Parks
Attempt to attract maximum investments in the state, the Uttar Pradesh Government is gearing up to develop private industrial parks in many districts. The industrial parks to be built on public private partnership (PPP) model are expected to boost exports from the state as well. The districts where private industrial parks are intended to be developed include Lucknow, Unnao, Amethi, Sultanpur, Pratapgarh, Auraiya, Hamirpur, Jalaun, Noida, Ghaziabad, Meerut, Azamgarh, Ambedkar Nagar, Gorakhpur and Prayagraj. The State Government intends to build the first industrial park in Unnao near Agra-Lucknow Expressway. Land has also been identified to build this private industrial park in Barauli Kalan village of the district. Industries manufacturing textile and ready-made garments, food processing, perfumes, brass products, toys and electronic equipment can be set up in these private industrial parks. The manufacturing zone of the park will have flat-like factories and factory sheds. Common facilities will include business and shopping centres, incubation centres, hotels and restaurants, hostels, office blocks, health and communication facilities, police and fire stations, etc. The park will also have a common effluent treatment plant and testing labs. As for logistics, facilities like warehouses, container and truck terminals, railway siding infrastructure, fuel station, etc. will also be available.
