This one is for the lovers out there, a romantic classic dish made at home. I'm going to show you how to create a little magic any time of year. So grab your candles and your chocolates and join in the fun.
Ingredients:
2 One inch thick New York Strip steaks ( room temp)
3 Tbsp grill seasonings or (Salt, pepper, and garlic powder)
2 Tbsp butter or (butter substitute)
2 cloves garlic or (garlic paste)
2 sprigs of fresh thyme
Lobster tail:
3 tbsp of butter
2 ounces fresh chopped parsley
1 clove of fresh minced garlic
1 teaspoon old bay
2 teaspoons cracked black pepper
Directions:
Season your steak liberally on all sides and allow to rest for at least 30 minutes before you start cooking.
In a cast-iron pan set on HIGH heat place your steak on its side with the fat cap searing first for 2 minutes. To render that fatty goodness and flavor first.
lay the steaks down on either side now and sear uninterrupted for 2 minutes allowing a beautiful crust to form and then flip and repeat this step.
Cut your heat off after you have temped your steak (look for 5 degrees below what your desired temp is the carryover will bring it up to your desired doneness)
Add in butter and garlic and thyme and baste a butter bath over both steaks for about two minutes and then remove your steaks. Cover and let rest
Lobster tails:
Cut your tails on the underside with a pair of kitchen shears and then with a sharp knife cut you're lobster tails in half. You should have 4 halves when your finished.
In a non stick pan over med high heat you want to melt your butter and then add your tails in meat side down for 2 minutes then add in your garlic parsley and old bay to butter baste your tails.
Flip your lobster and crack your pepper over each tail and continue your butter bath until the shell is a bright red and your lobster is completely cooked through.
Pair with your favorite root veggies and a beautiful glass of wine and enjoy with the ones you love.
