I first got interested in sideshows because of aerial photography. One day when flying over Oakland, I looked down at an intersection and noticed the beautiful swooping patterns that the melting tires leave on the pavement, so I started seeking them out and documenting them and eventually created a whole series of "donuts" photos.
Then I started seeking out and documenting the sideshows themselves, and because of those photos and videos, I was contacted by the producers of the TV adaptation of the movie Blindspotting who were looking for footage to use in the show.
So for the past year or so, whenever I hear tires squealing from my home in East Oakland, I run out the door with my drones and try to capture whatever I can. This video is a compilation of some of my favorite sideshow footage, including some FPV shots, which (as far as I know) is a world's first. I hope you enjoy!
