Five children in West Bengal's Malda district who were playing in the vicinity spotted a ball-like object. The children were driven by curiosity and went ahead to pick it up. As soon as they laid their hands on it, the bomb exploded. All five children, aged 8-10 years, have sustained grievous injuries. The bomb was placed behind a house. An investigation is on to find out how the bomb landed in that particular area and who placed it. The children have been hospitalized and are being treated for their injuries.
