U.S. Special Counsel Robert Mueller's office issued a statement late on Friday taking issue with a report in Buzzfeed that President Donald Trump's former lawyer Michael Cohen said Trump told him to lie to Congress. It's extremely rare for Mueller's office to comment on media reports about the ongoing investigation into the alleged Russia meddling of the 2016 elections and its ties with the Trump campaign.
Cohen is set to testify voluntarily before the U.S. House Oversight and Reform Committee on February 7.
