I made this vlog a year ago while working as an intern for a small veterinary clinic - getting my first experience in a clinic was crucial for me to learn more about what I want for my future career.
Talking to different vets I received very different advice. Some say vet school wasn't worth the trouble, that it is a very depressing job, and that aspects of the job (people skills, decision making, computer work) aren't highlighted enough.
On the other hand, I've met other people who say they can't imagine any better career for themselves - that the animals and people they get to help make the tough times worth it. The hands-on nature of the position is very unique in animal care and that is very important to a lot of people.
Overall I learned sooo much from the time I spent in a clinic environment. I definitely recommend to people who are considering going to study veterinary medicine to get your foot in the door and try it out! The worst thing that can happen is that you realize it isn't exactly for you, like I did! :)
