Relax and join me in practicing something of your own to build a habit together.
Filming and streaming is a good way to hold you accountable to your practice if you worry that you lack the discipline or that you may wain or don’t have others to do it with!
Whether for support, motivation, inspiration, encouragement, accountability or just some company, doing this or something similar, even if no one sees or hears you, can be empowering, beneficial and rewarding.
If your practice allows, it can also be a space for you to reflect and ask questions. I often like to take this opportunity to talk things through (thinking out loud or meandering as I like to call it) with and to myself and the universe. Talking to someone, whether it be a higher power or even yourself always makes you feel better because you are able to express yourself. Be your own best friend and listener. You’ll be surprised how often you will answer your own questions and impart wisdom to yourself! ;-).
I also like to think out loud (meandering) as I practice/do something.
IMPORTANT:
Whatever you do, if you do something, listen to your body. Do any preparation you will need to do to avoid any harm to yourself and others. When in doubt, STOP.
I am NOT teaching.
While I may sometimes want to share what I’m doing, why I’m doing it, and how/what I think about it, it is just a habit of mine, do NOT take it as teaching. I am practicing for myself and always learning.
BUILDING A HABIT/PRACTICE:
If you find you are struggling fitting your practice, whatever it is you want to make a habit of, into each day, do it every other day, twice or once a week or month, start off small (step by step, 1 day at a time), don’t make it too hard and easy for you to want to stop.
Whatever it takes. The point is to show up, and just do it, for yourself; even if it’s an abbreviated practice, put 10 minutes into thinking about it if you can’t actually do it physically, keep the mind in the habit of the practice even if you can’t.
And if you find it unreasonable, acknowledge it and move forward. Don’t waste your time and energy judging and beating yourself up.
Remember, the point is to show up, and to just be doing it, for yourself.
Whatever works. You do it! Stop thinking and do it!
