At long last, the highly anticipated "R211T" subway cars have made it to New York! The R211Ts are virtually identical to the already delivered R211A test train, but these cars have an "open gangway" design which will allow passengers to walk safely throughout the train cars without having to cross over a dangerous gap. The first two cars to be delivered were cars 4044 and 4043. In total, 20 open gangway cars have been ordered as a test to see if they would work within the system.
