We have escaped the so-called end of the world of 2012 that irrationally worried so many people and yet humanity does not seem to be measuring the real challenges that could seal our future. This explains the existence of this indicator: the clock of the Apocalypse or the end of the world (Doomsday Clock). It was created in 1947, shortly after the US atomic bombings on Japan, by members of the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists, (BAS) based at the University of Chicago. This association, which counts no less than 15 Nobel Prize winners, warns the international community: "the probability of a global catastrophe is very high", pushing the 3-minute clock in 2015, the first adjustment since 2012. The following years confirm that the time is serious.
