The Black Ember TKS (Tech Kit Sling) is a sleek, high-tech looking sling bag that also aspires to be a tech kit made with some really great modern materials that is unfortunately held back by a series of frustrating usability issues.

The Tech Kit Sling's main claim to fame is its sleek, high tech design and materials, neat-in-concept-albeit-not-very-usable built-in accordion pocket and unique value proposition of being a combined Tech Kit and Sling in one item.
Conversely, its main weaknesses include its overall tightness and stiff access, inefficient usage of space with a very limited capacity, and a difficult-to-adjust surprisingly short carry strap.
I really wanted to like this bag even though I was 90% sure there would be significant usability issues just from looking at photos of it on the website.
Unfortunately after using this for a month it is clear that these issues are not only present and significant but end up making this neither a good sling nor a good tech kit. Unless you are deeply in love with the (admittedly very sexy) high tech asthetic and materials and willing to sacrifice practicality for them, you can better with virtually any other sling or tech kit out there.
