In this video, Ruben Maximiano (Senior competition expert and co-ordinator of the OECD Covid-19 competition response task force) explores competition authorities and policy makers challenges during the COVID crisis. He explains that there are valuable lessons to be learnt from previous crisis to be considered by policymakers during the 2020 crisis. He argues that this may require an increased focus on advocacy given the level of government interventions that can distort competition in markets and explores some of the enforcement challenges that competition authorities are facing and can expect to face in the following months and years.
