San Diego honors the 16 million women that went to work during WWII. The Coronado historical society held an event at the Rosie the Riveter Memorial Rose Gardens outside the Spreckels Center Monday, which was National Rosie the Riveter Day.
Pilots and girl scouts sat down with Betty Ridenour, who was one of the original “Rosies” during the war. She tells us she came to San Diego from New Mexico when she was just 18 years old and worked on planes.
