Nadiya Savchenko made her debut as a politician today. Although Savchenko was elected more than a year and a half ago, her imprisonment in Russia prevented the MP from attending any of the parliamentary sessions. The recognised Ukrainian hero was surprisingly calm during her speech. During an emotional moment, she promised not to let the memory of the soldiers killed in Donbas fade away. After Savchenko's address a poster that had her face on it was replaced with one calling for the release of all of Kremlin's political prisoners.
