Welcome to a compilation video featuring Cross Country Class 43 HST's, also known as Intercity 125.
The Cross Country Fleet is the only scheduled operator to run full length trains on the Cross Country network. Apart from Charter Trains such as Midland Pullman & Staycation Express & scheduled operators such as Scotrail & Great Western Railway which still operate scheduled services but only run as shorter length sets, they are known by Scotrail as Inter7City running as a 2+4 or 2+5 sets. Great Western Railway name them Castle Sets operating 2+4 Sets & 2+3 Sets.
These trains are still operating in 2021 because the carriages have had Power Plug Doors installed & that all carriages have retention water tanks installed.
Cross Country operate them as 2+7 Sets, the fleet features 12 Class 43 Powercars along with 40 Mark 3 Coaches that make up five sets which in the XC fleet are known as XC01, XC02, XC03, XC04 & XC05 along with 43207, 43208, 43239, 43285, 43301, 43303, 43304, 43321, 43357, 43366, 43378 & 43384 that operate from Plymouth to the North & Scotland and sometimes they operate to and from Penzance & as far as Dundee & Glasgow. Althought it's not rare to see these on the network now these days.
This video features from different spots that I have spotted throughout 2021. They include High Speed Pass, from onboard the train, at stations and Line side, these were filmed for example at Hayle, Plymouth, Highbridge & Burhnam, and other stations in the Southwest. This video does not feature 43321 & 43384 as they are out of service having an overhaul done which 43321 overhaul is completed. That will be on the 2022 mission to get the 2 Powercars.
Hope you all enjoy the video & thank you for watching.
