After the Second World War, there were huge amounts of military equipment and vehicles left all across Europe. Many of these were dismantled and were then removed from the battlefield, but today a number of the most iconic tanks can be seen in museums. However there are a number that have been lost to time but still remain. There have been Panther tanks for example found or T-34's recovered from former battlefields, but on a beach in England is a remarkable ruin of a British WW2 tank.

The A34 Comet Tank found on the beach near the Saltfleetby-Theddlethorpe Dunes in Lincolnshire was used as a bombing target for RAF planes to practice dropping their payloads. The beach itself is rather isolated and is very quiet, but during the Second World War it was a site which was protected well by pillboxes and anti-tank mines. But the A34 Comet disappears on the beach each day when the tide comes in, and reappears once the sea goes back out.

The Comet itself was one of the best tanks of the Second World War, and it was able to destroy some of the greatest and most infamous German tanks such as a Tiger Tank. But how did the A34 Comet Tank end up on the beach? It could have been one of those vehicles that saw action during World War 2, but today you can get up close to it and see it in all its glory.
