Cebu to Dumaguete by bus and by barge? No problem. It is possible as they are now buses from Cebu South Bus Terminal that makes a regular trip to Dumaguete by travelling south then taking the barge from Liloan in Cebu Island to Sibulan in Negros Island.
To make the trip more interesting, I decided not to do it straight but to make several stops to visit the heritage sites in Carcar, Argao and Boljoon.
First stop in Carcar had me having the best tasting lechon for breakfast, before heading to its heritage district to visit its church, museum, and ancestral houses.
Next stop is Argao for the chance to see its magnificent San Miguel Archangel church, the old baluartes and the old municipio. No trip to Argao is complete without tasting their famous Torta.
I then headed next to Boljoon to see its beautiful Patrocinio de Maria Santisima church, convent, Escuela Catolica, baluarte and the old cemetery.
From Boljoon, took a bus to Liloan where I hopped on a barge to Sibulan. Upon arriving in Sibulan, took a jeepney to Dumaguete and headed straight to my hostel.
