The landscape of scientific publishing has shifted during the pandemic. Many publishers have made research related to COVID-19 freely available, preprint servers have surged in popularity to share new results ahead of formal publication, journals have expedited their publication processes, and international collaborations have formed to compile the large volume of information being produced. This webinar will explore these changes in scholarly communication and discuss their implications for access to scientific research and evidence synthesis. Is the open science model here to stay? What are the consequences of bypassing or accelerating the peer review process? How can information specialists and researchers best search for evidence on COVID-19 given the speed of new research and changing publication models?
