Throughout their lives, women with epilepsy face unique health challenges and therefore benefit from comprehensive, patient-centered care designed to meet their needs. Family planning and contraception, seizures related to menstrual cycle, pregnancy, hormone replacement, and bone health are all addressed in the Women’s Epilepsy Program at the University of Maryland Medical Center (UMMC) in Baltimore. The program is one of just a few serving the Mid-Atlantic region.
