The broadcasts of Summer and Winter Olympic Games produced by CBC Sports is shown on CBC Television and heard on CBC's radio networks in Canada.
CBC's Olympic theme music was written and composed by Marc Cholette and John Doerr of Majoma Music for the network's coverage of the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul. The soundtrack mixes strong notes from trumpets with rhythmic drum hits to create a sound of strength that hits its highest pitch at the end, signifying the uphill climb of competition and ultimate achievement.
Since Athens in 2004, the theme was continuously updated for each Olympics, breathing new life into the music and adapting its sound to reflect the host country of the current games. CBC's coverage of Beijing 2022 took on a different musical arrangement, unlike the previous ones first introduced during the 2004 Summer Games, with only the closing part of its signature motif was incorporated into the theme, and was heard during the start and in the end.
