Their journey began almost a decade ago at an unexpected place—the local KFC, where they both worked. Mitch recalls first seeing Ashley, who immediately caught his eye with her bubbly and infectious smile. While their lives initially took different paths, fate had other plans.

What started as casual post-shift car rides soon blossomed into a deep and lasting friendship and, eventually, a romance. Their relationship was filled with memorable moments, from a “break-up” picnic that didn’t quite end as planned to overseas adventures that tested their resolve, including surviving a cyclone in Fiji and floods on the Sunshine Coast.
