The Garmin Vector 3 power meter pedals had a troubled start to life with a number of their issues being around the batteries and the battery housing. Garmin have (mostly) resolved those issues with redesigned battery caps (or holders). I've seen people discussing online they have better results using a single CR1/3N - which is the same size as two LR44 or SR44 batteries the Vector 3 and 3S take.
