Unless you are exempt from wearing a seatbelt officially, it is the law to wear one in the UK when driving a car
The DRIVER is responsible for themselves to wear a seat belt AND anyone under the age of 14 in the car - there can be a fine of up to £500 for the driver if they or their younger passengers are not wearing a seat belt if they have to wear one
The DRIVER is responsible for making sure children have the correct seats for their age when in a car as well as making sure their seat belt is on.
People of the age 14 and over are classed as ‘Adults’ in the car and they are responsible for their own seat belt
You can take your seat belt off to reverse - however you MUST put it back on to drive forward again
Dogs must be restrained in the correct lawful way also otherwise there are hefty fines
