A look inside at the new order on the Cross City lines with West Midlands trains. There will be a total of 36 Class 730/0 units built by Alstom gradually displacing the popular Class 323 around the region over to Northern.
The first pair of Class 730s units entered service on the Cross City Line on 15 April 2024. The 3-car 730/0s will be maintained at Soho Depot in Birmingham which is the home depot of the Class 323s and the 5-car 730/2s will be maintained at Bletchley Depot in Milton Keynes.
