The Secret Behind Luffy’s Straw Hat

Luffy is seen wearing his iconic straw hat during most if not all scenes in the live action, and even risking his life for it at times. This hat is very important to Luffy as it was given to him by Shanks, Shanks gave the hat to Luffy as a symbol of how much he believed in him.

Iñaki Godoy the actors who plays luffy in the live action reveals in his latest interview that there were multiple different straw hats used for different shots, specific type of straw hats for wide shots, a different one for close ups, sometimes they had to change the straw hat depending on the time of day, they even had a particular straw hat for fight scene. But Iñaki makes it clear that every straw hat was important to him.
