The Screaming Jets' Paul Woseen recording guitar tracks for his debut album 'Bombido' at Blackfoot Studios, Sydney, with Jim Blackfoot. It may be hard to believe, but it took me about 20 years to convince Paul to go into a studio to sing and record his songs acoustically. As he pointed out, they were nearly all written especially as rock songs for The Screaming Jets and he wasn't a solo performer. He'd always played in bands. So it took a while. But the music Paul made was worth waiting for. The harmonic thing you can hear when he's playing filled the whole studio, like all the metal was singing along, including my glasses, the most extraordinary studio experience I've ever had. This recorded performance was actually one of the first times Paul had even played some of his Tear Of Thought songs on acoustic guitar, let alone recorded or performed them. I'm still stunned listening back now, after hearing the recordings hundreds of times.
Paul died at 56 in Sept 2023.
