As a Seattle City Council member, Sally Bagshaw became involved with Mary's Place 15 years ago. At that time, there were very few places in Seattle for women with children to find shelter and resources. Mary's Place served a growing need, and the organization was doing everything it could to help struggling moms find a place to stay. Sally was genuinely moved by their dogged efforts to bring corporations and community members together to support the unsheltered families of the region. She has loved seeing the philanthropic support from the community grow in ways that have truly changed the landscape of how Seattle serves women and families experiencing homelessness.
